Suspicious and weak-minded, King Seonjo is wary of his son Gwanghae, who has the face of a king according to physiognomy readings. Despite his illegitimate and unfavored status, Gwanghae is named Crown Prince in the wake of the Japanese invasion of Joseon Korea in 1592. Challenged from all sides by both foreign aggressors and manipulative political factions, Gwanghae uses his physiognomy advantages to overcome the many dangers and obstacles he encounters on his path to the throne.
